Funding a Wallet

To start using Web3 applications on Santiment L2 Chain, users need a small amount of ETH on their crypto wallets in that network to pay for transaction fees.

There are two easy ways to receive ETH tokens on the Santiment L2 Chain.

1. Automatic ETH Allocation Upon Registration in SanR App

When users connect and register their wallet in a SanR application built on the Santiment L2 Chain, the system automatically grants a small amount of ETH to their wallet. This ETH is intended to cover transaction fees and enables the users to begin interacting with the application right away.

While the amount may seem small, it’s important to remember that transaction costs on the L2 are extremely low. Even a tiny ETH allocation can be enough to perform thousands of actions, such as submitting data, signing messages, or interacting with smart contracts.

2. Bridging ETH from Ethereum L1 *

For users who already hold ETH on Ethereum’s Layer 1, there’s another option: using the Santiment Bridge. This bridge allows users to transfer ETH from Ethereum L1 to their wallet on the Santiment L2 Chain. The process is straightforward and fully on-chain, and once completed, the user can use the transferred ETH to interact with any applications or protocols on the Santiment L2 Chain.

  • The Santiment bridge is currently under development. You may use it at your own risk.
