Architecture

The Santiment Intelligence Network is a suite of applications and services, that provide users with the ability to produce, consume, and leverage market intelligence.

The architecture of the network can be described across three primary layers: the Infrastructure Layer, the Protocol Layer, and the Application Layer. Each of these layers has specific components that work together to ensure the network's security, scalability, and efficiency. Below is a detailed description of the architecture and its main components.

Infrastructure Layer​

The Infrastructure Layer comprises the essential components, which collectively support and ensure the proper functioning of the higher layers. Those are its key components:

  • Santiment Chain: This is the EVM-compatible blockchain based on optimistic rollup technology and it consists of different coordinated blockchain nodes. The blockchain serves as the foundation for the protocol layer, enabling smart contracts to execute core logic in a transparent, trustless, and verifiable way. It allows users and applications to interact with the platform’s logic and data without intermediaries.
  • Oracles: Oracles are services that provide external “intelligent” data into the blockchain. They are essential for enabling smart contracts to interact with real-world data, such as price feeds or other off-chain information.
  • Decentralized Storage: This component is responsible for the persistent storage of “intelligent” data (for example, signals’ contexts) in a distributed and decentralized way.

Protocol Layer​

The Protocol Layer is responsible for core functionality of the Intelligence Network and is built on smart contracts governing signals, managing staking process, and providing price feeds.

  • Prices Contract: This contract manages and provides “intelligent” price feeds to the network. It takes data from oracles that supply external price information to the blockchain for use in various decentralized applications (dApps).
  • Signals Contract: This is a specialized smart contract within the protocol layer that handle creation of signals on the network, related to external events and essential for the operation of other smart contracts or dApps.
  • Predictions Contract: This contract manages predictions, related to market or event outcomes (for example, signals).
  • Competitions Contracts: These contracts work together to organize competitions, manage predictions, and distribute rewards based on performance metrics.

Application Layer​

The Application Layer provides user-facing applications and tools for interacting with the Santiment Intelligence Network.

  • SanBase: A data analytics platform that provides insights and aggregated data from different blockchains and social networks. It plays a role of a source for “intelligent” data feeds for the network.
  • SanR: This is the user-facing Web Application that allows users to access the functionality provided by the underlying network and its core smart contracts, including creation of signals and predictions as well as accessing intelligent data provided by other users or by the network itself.
  • Sanitizer: A decentralized application within the application layer that can be used for analysis and assessments of crypto market predictions made in the social networks with the help of “intelligent” data stored in the blockchain.
  • SanQuants: A strategy reputation system enabling transparent performance tracking without revealing the strategy's intellectual property. This allows quant teams to prove the performance of their strategies while maintaining full ownership and control of sensitive trading information.
  • Data Anomalies: The module that automatically generates signals based on data anomalies in the crypto asset markets.
  • Explorer: The blockchain explorer allows users to view and track transactions, blocks, and other activities on the underlying blockchain. It's an essential tool for transparency and user engagement.
  • Bridge: The bridge is a web tool that lets the users safely move the tokens between Ethereum and Santiment Chain.
  • There can be other dApps built on top of the Santiment Intelligence Network, utilizing its unique capabilities and open protocols.
